Charleston in Lewes - Home of the Bloomsbury group

After a visit to Charleston, I made quick, spontaneous pieces in a small sketchbook. The modernist home and studio of the painters Vanessa Bell and Duncan Grant, Charleston was a gathering point for some of the 20th century’s most radical artists, writers and thinkers known collectively as the Bloomsbury group. The house embodies creativity, freedom and expression.

The notecards and prints that resulted from these illustrations are available in my online shop. Please visit SHOP in the menu to click through to Etsy.
