I am based in Lancaster, Lancashire, surrounded by old textile mills, historic buildings, green rolling hills, views of nearby Morecambe Bay and the fells of the nearby Lake District.

I go to a variety of sources for inspiration - museum collections, history, exhibitions, books, poetry, music, the natural world … anything and everything is interesting. More often than not my interest rests on the natural world and the local flora and fauna seen on my runs and walks in Lancashire and Cumbria.

I love what’s on my doorstep, however now and then, travel is one of the richest pots for brewing up lots of new ideas. I travel when I can and have enjoyed visiting Turkey, Syria, Jordan, Morocco, Egypt and Kenya, soaking up as much imagery and colour as possible.

I graduated from Edinburgh with a Fine Art MA (Hons) degree. My course, a five year programme, allowed me to train as a painter at Edinburgh College of Art and as an art historian at the University of Edinburgh.

After graduating, I worked at the Victoria & Albert Museum (V&A), London, for eight and a half years, where the collections fed my love of history, art and design.

Since then I have worked for creatively-led, independent business. For six years I worked as a Retail Buyer & Visual Merchandiser - a job which I loved.

I have licensed artwork, collaborated with business & carried out public commissions. If you want to explore working together please contact me through the Contact Me page.
